Grilled Sardines
Summer yells for refreshing meals! With these grilled sardines you’ll surprise your guests for sure! Served with a delicious white wine like the Marceau le Blanc you’ll be kicking off your party in style! Enjoy the good life.
Ingredients
- 100 gr. sardines
- 3 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp hazelnut oil
- 1/2 handful of lemon verbena
- 1/2 handful of cilantro
- 1 tsp thinly chopped chili peppers
- zeste of a half lemon
- lemon juice at taste
- salt and pepper at taste
Instructions
- Clean the sardines by gently stroking them from the tail to the head to remove it’s small scales. Make a thin cut in the belly and remove the intestins. Rinse under clean water and put aside in a bowl to marinate.
- Mix the oils, lemon verbena, cilantro, lemon zeste and peppers and pour over the cleanded sardines.
- Put the marinated sardines in the fridge for an hour. Meanwhile start the grill on high heat.
- Grill the sardines about two minutes each side. Watch out they don’t stick on your grill.
- Put the grilled sardines in a tray and sprinkle with lemon juice, salt and pepper at taste. Add some fresh lemon zeste at taste for some bright colours and flavor pops.
